Surface Pro 4 screen dimming problem

On some older PCs it is possible to disable DPST using Intel’s driver configuration software, but unfortunately this software is not available on the Surface line of tablets. So, if you want to disable the Intel Display Power Saving technology on your Surface Pro 4, follow the steps above. After performing this action, the Intel DPST will be disabled and any problems with dimming the screen will be solved.

But if you’ve noticed that your Surface Pro 4 screen looks dimmer than usual, you’re not alone. Microsoft has acknowledged this issue and has offered a fix, but it requires a bit of work and might not work for everyone. Your best bet is to contact your Surface Pro 4 manufacturer and see whether they’ll fix the issue for you. A number of users have reported the same issue when using their Surface Pro 4 device. How do I stop my surface from dimming?

A growing number of Surface Pro 4 users have taken to Microsoft’s support forums to complain that their devices have started dimming when they’re running on battery power. Some have even reported that their Surfaces have made the problem worse by randomly dimming, even when they’re on the power supply. Microsoft has said it’s investigating the issue, but for now, the company also recommends that Surface Pro 4 owners change a few settings to improve battery life and prevent dimming. Surface Pro 3 and Surface Pro 4 users may have noticed their device’s screen slowly dims after some time. This can be very frustrating especially when you are working on a project.
